In Danli, Honduras, vector control technicians Edwin Manfredo Aleman, Nelly Luatani Baldivia and Genzel Joel Ramos, discuss mosquito control with 22-year-old Mara Loany, who is at risk for Zika because she is of reproductive age. The technicians go door to door in the area to check for standing water where the Zika-carrying Aedes aegypti mosquito can breed. They apply a larvicide to water in pilars, or wash basins, to kill the larvae as part of the USAID-funded ZAP project.
