Erwin Staling Barahona is a social worker trained by UNICEF at the Villa Nueva primary health center in a neighborhood in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, that serves about 24,500 people. Erwin regularly does home visits and checks on women affected by Zika and children with congenital Zika syndrome. One of the mothers is Ninoska Haylock, whose 9-month-old daughter Fernanda Alvarez was born with microcephaly. The condition causes her to become irritable and cry more frequently.
