An infant boy plays outside his home as his mother looks on nearby. In Bangladesh, poor families like this usually have less than half an acre of cultivable land. A main goal for the Lutheran World Relief project Participatory Community Development in northern Bangladesh was to organize 1,700 rural poor families and provide training in effective ways of utilizing the land.
