The International Committee of the Red Cross experienced many logistical nightmares in the effort to provide Relief during the Nigerian Civil War. Planes were forced to land at night on a stretch of highway, and planes encountering delays were destroyed by Nigerian Airforce jets. This photo shows the "Uli Airstrip" where 36 Relief workers were killed and buried.
