Notes

As part of the USAID funded Innovations in Family Planning Services (IFPS) project, a Media Materials Resource Centre (MMRC) was set up within the IEC Bureau of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Uttar Pradesh. The work of establishing the MMRC was begun with technical assistance from JHU/PCS and the JHU/CCP Media/Materials Clearinghouse in 1997, and the Centre was formally declared open in January 1998. The MMRC not only meets the IEC needs of the IFPS project, but also acts as the foundation for the activities of the IEC Bureau, thus helping in strengthening the linkage between NGOs and the public sector.
