 1. Photographer Spotlight - Katie Richey

Prior to joining Population Reports at The INFO Project in 2003, Katie Richey spent a year in India as a Research Fellow for the Rural Development Institute of the Himalayan Institute Hospital Trust, located in Uttaranchal.  This posting included designing holistic health programs for adolescents, researching cultural practices concerning traditional medicine, and developing publications of health related materials. Her interests include medical anthropology and maternal and child health. Katie has a BA in Anthropology and is currently pursuing a MPH degree from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

Katie says,"development photography is an important component of development work in that it connects the field experiences, the stories, and people on all levels of the development chain. Photoshare is a wonderful way to disseminate these images and experiences across geographical, spatial and organizational boundaries."
