Visually challenged girls in Ahmedabad, India learn about reproductive health with the help of an anatomical model of a uterus. The Adolesent Health and Nutrition Education project included both seeing and visually-impaired and physically challenged girls. Felix Masi, an award-winning international photojournalist with Saharapics in Kenya, is a new Photoshare contributor. Masi has worked alongside internationally renowned photojournalists in regional Africa, Europe, and the Netherlands, covering international leaders and events. Recently, Masi has begun to focus on war, HIV/AIDS, and poverty in Africa. “I want to use my pictures to help my people until AIDS and poverty becomes history,” says Masi. “I believe it is possible - with a visual campaign on AIDS and poverty - to make a difference in my country and in Africa, because pictures are a powerful tool of communication, and they make people react fast.” Read the full story on Masi’s inspiring career as a photographer in Africa committed to using his talents in photography to highlight and support those who are affected by HIV/AIDS. |
