A man displaced by the war in Lebanon volunteers to help prepare food for the other 400 people living in a school in Beirut to escape the fighting further south. International and local non-governmental organizations provided the food, bedding, cooking utensils, and other emergency items to those living at the school. More than 980,000 people - one quarter of Lebanon's total population - were displaced by the war. © 2006 David Snyder, Courtesy of Photoshare
